Dear Dr. Forster,
I have got only a handwriting copy of 1957 report ,which was attached as an appendix of 1979 Report by CCP Zhejiang . The content of it referring Sha wenhan was handwritten as a excerpt, which I typewrote it for you to read easier.
I think you may find the main points and facts in news paper published in December 1957. (Zhejiang Ri Bao)
About Sha 's political past history : It is true that in spring of 1957, when Sha wenhan was in Peking to attend the National People's Congress, Mr. An zhi wen, the head of Central Organization Department, talked specially to him and told him that his political past had been clarified and he should be permitted to join in the Province Party Committee 's meetings.
The document like that was usually kept in secret, according to my mother, and it would be informed to the Province counterpart definitely. However, the Provincial authorities never disclosed this result in the same range as it declared that Sha wen han was the second Pan Han nian in Zhejiang.
The worst of it, in 1979 Jiang Hua even "invented" a new story of "being told by Sha about his arrested history after Anti- Rightists Movement" . You must have seen it in the 1979 Report of CCP Zhejiang. In the same Report , it confirms that there was indeed a conclusion for Sha 's political past given by Central Organization Department earlier in1957. That is all I can inform you by now.
