The Database
The Grassroots Chinese History Archive is the sole worldwide open-access online home of the Chen Xiuliang-Sha Wenhan Family Collection and hosts grassroots documents about the history of Tianjin during the 1960s and 1970s, featured in Tianjin's Cultural Revolution Collection. We are regularly uploading new items, updating the database, and preparing to launch new collections.
We encourage you to use multiple pathways to browse and search the collection, including the keyword search box in the upper right hand corner of each page, the Advanced Search function, and browsing by tags via the word cloud below or this link. To learn more about searching, including how to find items according to their subject, visit the User Guide.
The GCHA and other online repositories are potential platforms for scholars who cite grassroots documents in published work and want to share digitized versions of grassroots materials so that other scholars can follow their tracks. To contact the GCHA team regarding donating documents, suggesting corrections, and reporting technical problems, write to grassrootschinesehistory[at]gmail.com.
