Description
Deng Haoming (1904–1998) Was a Liberal Figure Within the Kuomintang and the Maternal Uncle-in-Law of Wang Yanqing, Commander of the 97th Division—Known as Chiang Kai-Shek’s “Royal Guard.” He Helped Persuade Commander Wang to Defect in March 1949. After the Liberation, Deng Served as a Counselor to the Central People’s Government, a Member of the Central Standing Committee of the Chinese Peasants’ and Workers’ Democratic Party, and Director of the Nanjing Municipal Construction Bureau, Among Other Positions.
